New Interchange Relieves Traffic
Just down the road from the Atlanta Falcons Training Facility, a new interchange is being built for the interstate. The I-985 Martin Road Interchange project in Atlanta, Georgia is taking 150,000 tons of material – all from Vulcan’s Friendship Quarry in Buford, Georgia. “The asphalt stone, the concrete stone, the base underneath the road – everything,” said Vulcan Sales Representative Greg Weber.
The new bridge will not only relieve traffic on Atlanta Falcon game days and beyond, but will also provide a positive economic impact. “We’re providing for the growing Atlanta economy in this area,” Weber said. “This project is helping with providing jobs for this area and also alleviating the traffic congestion in this area. Better connectivity to the areas around here where people live and work.”
