Atlanta’s Newest Reservoir and Largest Park is Now Open

We congratulate the City of Atlanta on the August 20, 2021 opening of the city’s newest and largest park, Westside Park. This is the story of partnerships and holistic land management, working together to serve future generations.

Bellwood Quarry, formerly owned by Vulcan Materials Company, was converted from a granite quarry serving the city’s building, construction and infrastructure needs. Today it’s an emergency 2.4 billion gallon drinking water reservoir and a beautiful park for residents to enjoy.
